Birla Temple, Salav is situated about 13 km away from Alibag. On the way to Janjira, take the right fork to reach the Vikram Ispat industry. Going a bit ahead will lead one to the temple.The temple has marble floors and the hall of the temple is open from all sides. The ceiling of the temple is transparent which allows free flow of air and ample of light to come in. On entering the temple there is a square shaped nave. The beautifully carved idol of 'Ganapati' is placed the nave.
Kanakeshwar( देव श्री कनकेश्वर ), on the Konkan coast near Alibag, is a popular place, famous for its cool climate and the old temple of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated on a small hill near the village of Mapgaon which is almost 21 km from Alibag. The hill is almost 1200 feet high and one has to climb 700 - 750 steps to reach the temple.Kanakeshwar is a place to feel the jungle and silence of the jungle and hills.
Janjira is a fort situated not very far from Alibag. It was built by Siddi traders. Shivaji Maharaj failed to capture the fort from the Siddis. One can find fresh water pounds inside the fort even today.The palace of the Nawabs of Janjira at Murud is still in good shape.
Kolaba (or Kulaba) fort (Not to be confused with Colaba in Mumbai) is situated in the sea at a distance of 1–2 km from the Alibag shores. During low tide one can walk to the fort.An interesting feature of this fort is that it has freshwater wells in its premises even though it is a seaside fort.
This fort is hardly few km from Kashid beach and close to Revdhanda beach. For is covered by sea from 3 side which gives you breathtaking view of Arabian Sea. Fort consists of wall, Temple, small church, horse stable and cannon on few bastions. It is not maintained at all.You have to cross Korlai village and drive towards lighthouse. From lighthouse arear, steps are laid till top of fort. It takes hardly 15 min to reach at top and fort can be seen in one hour time.

The exhibition is open the whole day, all days of a week. Art lover or not this place is a must visit. Mr. Vinayak. P. Karmarkar, born on 2nd October 1891, was among the most renowned sculptures of all times.
